Bodywork continues. The replaced pillar mentioned last week has now been painted.
The corner skin from the same corner has been removed and the old paint scraped off the inside to assess its condition. It will be repaired and re-welded onto the framework in due course, using some bits left over from when the ends were replaced on M4843.
Two steel doors (ex E4521) are being stripped down in readiness for overhaul and reuse on E21224, which will mean the coach no longer has a mix of aluminium and steel doors.
The five large panes of window glass have been fitted along the corridor side of the vehicle, as have the sliding windows which concludes the glazing fitting along the corridor. One set of sliding windows does require some further adjustment however.
Toilet shelving and wooden window surrounds have also received further coats of varnish this week, they're starting to take on the "glow"...

Work to repaint some of the corridor end components continues. The seaward side toilet compartment is now also completely stripped out, including parts of the bulkhead walls themselves. This is to allow in the future some serious replacement of the metalwork along the floor at the end of the coach, as well as crash pillar repairs. The same treatment is now required on the landward side also.
Two doors have been removed from the coach, as they are being used for E21224.
